Did You See the Moon This Week?

Wow the moon seemed so close and big this week.  One of my children took this picture on Wednesday night in our backyard.

On Friday morning the moon remained in the sky even after the sun was coming up. My daughter and I kept trying to catch glimpses of it between the trees as we walked to morning Mass. Each time I looked at it I was overcome with the beauty of the moon and its closeness to us.

Several years ago a retired pilot called about the Children's Rosary.  He began to talk to me about the moon and Our Lady.  He had many interesting insights but one that has always remained with me is how the moon is able to provide so much light and yet none of it comes from itself. It is simply a reflection of the sun.  It seemed in a very similar way Our Lady does this so perfectly. She acts as a polished mirror of God.  She reflects light but the light does not come from herself.

Thinking of Our Lady and the moon today, I thought of our light.  What light we can bring?  How well polished are we?  As we are now moving into our 7th day of the 9 day fast what has become of us? One of the things that has remained in my prayer this week during the fast is the hope that we can create the light of prayer in our world. That we may through our small way create lights of prayer that can illuminate the darkness.  Through this light we act as an invitation to others to pray and add their light.  On this Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary can we give Her a gift? Can we take time and add our light that others may come and see it and want to unify prayers?

The Children's Rosary is looking for individuals or families that can commit to 30 minutes each day. We ask that they go to www.childrensrosary.org and click "join in prayer". A gold light will begin flashing in the world on our View from Heaven map.  Others will be able to see this light.
The light will remain for 30 minutes.  We are asking for people to write to us with a time they would like to commit to prayer each day. In this way when other people from around the world come to the site they will see it alight with prayer. They will see a light and know a soul is out there praying. A soul reaching out through prayer and inviting them to join them.

Once we have individuals for each half our of the day who have contacted us and pledged to keep the light on we will release a very special video to the world.  A video that provides a glimpse into what Our Lord and Our Lady see when they look down on our world.  It is something we pray and hope that can touch many many hearts. But Our Lord needs us.  This invitation to other souls must be a living invitation...there must be a live soul behind it. Only when the light is going do people know that a person waits for them to join and in that moment something special can happen.  Someone who might not normally pray may say yes to prayer.  Wow that is something very special.

Excited?  Want to be part of this?  I hope so. Write to us with a time you can "join in prayer". This would be a half hour each day.
When you click "join in prayer" on our website we ask that you say internally, "Lord I would like to unify prayers with any members of the Children's Rosary praying". By hitting the button "join in prayer"  one joins those visible on the map plus by saying that little prayer they join those unifying that do not have access to a computer who are part of the Children's Rosary and are praying.

Please write to blythe.kaufman@gmail.com to provide the time you would like to "join in prayer" and add your light.

Thank you.
